Classes begin in August and end following the recital in May. \nTuition is the same each month regardless of the number of weeks in the month or student absences. Tuition must be paid by the first day of each month from August 2025 through April 2026. There will be no tuition for the month of May. Tuition can be paid online through Eventbrite or by cash or check in the payment drop box in the dance studio or in the Surry Arts Council Office. \nFamily tuition is based on the number of class minutes each week. Family is defined as siblings living in the same household. If calculating monthly tuition for multiple children in the same household\, use ages 9+ prices. There will be a 5% discount if registration\, tuition\, and costume fees for the entire year are paid in full by August 1\, 2025. \nA $25 registration fee per dancer is due before the first day of dance class. SUMMARY:Into the Woods: Winter 2025–26 Trail Training Program
DESCRIPTION:The Into the Woods Winter Trail Training Program is an eight-week course designed to prepare runners for the Occoneechee Mountain Challenge. An informational session will be held on November 20\, and the program runs from November 30\, 2025\, through January 25\, 2026. Participants meet every Sunday morning at trailheads around Carrboro and Chapel Hill to learn trail-running techniques and build endurance. The program welcomes beginners and includes hiking groups. Registration costs $110. \nProgram Details: \n\nInformation Session & Gear Up Night: November 20th at Fleet Feet Durham Southpoint\nProgram Starts: November 30th\, Carolina North Forest\nProgram Ends: January 25th\, 2026 with the Occoneechee Mountain Challenge\nWe’ll explore local trails at Carolina North Forest\, Eno River State Park\, Umstead State Park\, Wilson Park\, Briar Chapel\, and more\nRuns are every Sundays at 8 am. These will be held at various trails around the triangle that will help expand your knowledge and comfort level of running in the area\nWe’ll have options for beginners and more seasoned trail runners\, and we have a hiking group. DESCRIPTION:Tunes\, Tunes\, Tunes … FIDDLE tunes specifically!   This is not a singing jam\, but an opportunity to learn (or teach) fiddle tunes from all genres of traditional music.  All ages\, all levels\, and various instruments are welcomed (especially fiddles\, of course)\, but this session is intended to focus on the tunes themselves.    Please RSVP if you plan to attend (see RSVP form below) \nFiddle Tune Friendzy is an all ages event.  Learn and play fiddle tunes from many traditions (Bluegrass\, Oldtime\, Irish\, Scottish\, Blues\, Cajun\, Ragtime\, Contra Dance). \nBring:  Violins\, Mandolins\, Guitars\, Banjos\, Tin Whistles\, Accordions\, Etc. \nThis Event is FREE.  Come to listen or to join in the music circle playing Fiddle Tunes \nSponsors include: Stonefield Cellars Winery\, High Lonesome Strings\, Vance Archer III\, The Thursday Music Circle \nVance Archer III Bio \n\n \nVance D. Archer III has been a musician for over 70 years with a career that spans from classical cello in the family string quartet to 40 years of leading Folk Music\, Irish Celli and Contra Dance bands in the greater New York City/New Jersey region. He plays violin\, viola\, cello\, guitar\, mandolin\, autoharp and bouzouki in a variety of musical styles. \nSince moving to Greensboro in 2005\, Vance has become active in the Triad Music and Art Scene. In addition to leading the Fiddle Tunes Friendzy\, Vance hosts the Triad Music Circle in his home\, where they enjoy playing acoustic music from many traditions. The Music Circle consists of musicians with varied abilities and interests while serving primarily as emotional musical therapy for its members. The group also serves as an introduction to group playing for his students. Vance hosts an occasional “Traveling Hootenanny” where folks join for an evening of socialization and singing.\nVance performs solo concerts in various regional venues. For these performances he often plays Guitar\, Autoharp and Fiddle while leading the singing. Vance organizes solo and group musical entertainment for social gatherings and trade shows and can gather the proper mix of musicians to accommodate most musical venues. \n \nVance would rather practice outside than inside. DESCRIPTION:From Oct. 4 through 12\, guests enjoy short\, guided nature walks that highlight Grandfather Mountain’s fall colors. The Fall Color Rambles take place daily\, weather permitting. The short excursions begin at 1 p.m. and typically last for 30 minutes. Rambles will start outside the entrance of the Wilson Center for Nature Discovery. Included with admission.
